This seemed like a really good idea when I started out.
I signed up for Link Market to trade links, knowing that most of
the links are going to be junk, but I thought if I could just get 2 or
3 half way decent links a week that would be a huge success.
After signing up I started getting emails that people wanted to trade links with me, bunches of emails, every day I get emails.
There are a lot of sites that want to trade, so I start looking through
the sites, as I expected most of them are PR 0 sites that just started
up a week ago.
But after looking through 15 or 20 sites I would find one what would be
a PR 5 site wanting to trade links, so I would reply that I agree to
the link exchange.
Now they are suppose to place my link on their site and send me back a
response, when that happens I get another email from Link Market and
then I need to log back in to Link Market and place their link on my
site.
The Problem with Link Market
The problem is that I have now agreed to trade links with a bunch of
sites, after a while I got really tired of looking at the sites and I
just agreed to trade with a bunch of sites.
Now I have a list of the sites that have some page rank on their home
page, but when I log back on Link Market I have to then run my spider
and hunt for the link on their site because Link Market will not give
it to you.
So some of the sites don't put my link up, then next couple sites put
it on a page that is not linked in anyway to their main page so it is
worthless.
Then a couple sites my spider grinds through 3000 links and can't find
any link to my site so I give up and tell my poor spider to take a
break.
Now I am starting to invest more and more time in this project, loging
in Link Market, hunting for the hidden links they decided not to tell
me about, finding links on sites that are worthless.
I have decided that at this point it is not worth my time, if you have
a new site and you are just looking to trade links with anyone just to
get going, this is a great place to start and a few of them may give
you back a good link, I have no idea.
