I have seen a lot of people making some simple mistakes that will make a difference in their traffic to their site.
The most common mistake that is easy to fix is putting all your links on one page, or 2 or 3 pages.
I see this a lot and the only thing I can figure is that people don't understand how simple it is to make multiple pages.
Everyday I see sites with over 1000 links on a page, if these links
were broken down to 10 per page that would be 100 pages that would be
indexed by the search engines.
Now which has a better chance of someone running across their links a site with one link or a site with 100?
That should be obvious.
The solution is simple with links machine, just go to "change settings".
Then "Link Page Format"
Under Layout Style choose "Multi Page Directory Descriptions"
Or "Multi Page, No Descriptions"
Then remember that only the main categories get new pages, the sub-categories don't get a new page so I don't use them.
Everyone agrees you should watch the number of links you have on a page
some people say you should not go over 30, so you don't really need the
sub-categories at all.
Now that you have all those extra pages don't forget to put a link from
your main page to your links pages so they will get picked up by the
search engines.
