CMS Design Problems

I still like Xsitepro, even though I end up making a lot fewer pages than I do with blogger.com or any of the blogging software.

I still like the way Xsitepro gives you a lot of control over your site, of course this is also the problem with it.
I spend (waste) so much time reorganizing the site that I never get anything done, there is always a better header to find some where.  Or a better color on the one that I have.

There are endless ways that I can arrange the links, and endless ways I can rearrange the ones I have.

So I start out looking at my site then I think about making one little change, then I spend hours and hours trying to make it better, and I end up getting nothing done.

So my advice is that if your thinking about creating a site, then just buy a standard template from someone, or better yet, just use one from blogger and don’t make any changes to it.

Use all your time creating content, and none of your time changing the look of your site.

Then I look at another site and think I need to find a new CMS program all together, then I check my site and read that the first thing you need to have with any CMS program is that it needs to be installed with Fantastico.

That really helps me to narrow down the search.

If you can't install it with Fantastico then you will waste so much time that it is really not worth it, just look at the choices you have with Fantistico then pick one of them. That makes it a lot more simple, and your much more likely to end up with a better product.
